living in the country is better than living in the city (persuasive writing)
I strongly believe that living in the country is better than living in that stuffy apartment in the city. the reasons why you should believe me are: less polution huge living spaces and of course you can't ignore the fact that there are way less people.
Imagine getting a massive lungfull of fresh air, not a hint of pollution. If you did that in the city all you would get would be disgusting polluted air. Gross don’t you think? It is way healthier in the country! I know I would rather be healthy in the amazing, intriguing county than unhealthy in the boring city.
Even thinking about those huge living spaces makes me want to drool a swimming pool. No T.V. or computer wouldn't be so bad you could just go build a fort in you huge backyard. If you got bored you could just explore that huge farmhouse of glory. that would be fun. If you explored your apartment you would bump your head.
Imagine walking into a shop and not getting squished to the window. That is what it is like in the country. Just you and the staff. Or walking to the supermarket and knowing everyone on the way. Last but not Least never having to use the saying ‘every man and his dog are here.’
So once again I very strongly believe that living in the country is Way better than living in that stuffy apartment in the city. Now you should agree with me because of fresh air, huge living spaces and less people.

The NZ flags
Introduction:
Imagine 5 different flags flapping in the wind. A variety of colours and designs. Red, white, royal blue, stripes, crosses, stars. flags for NZ have been designed and changed 5 times in only 185 years, and now it looks like we are going to get a 6th! do you want to change the flag ?What did our first flag look like? Why did we change our first flag? why doesn't the world know what our flag looks like? d These are some of the burning questions that should be on our minds and I would like to help you find the answers.
The history
Flags for NZ go back to 1830, when NZ was still as green as broccoli. When a ship got stolen yes stolen by Australia!! We had no flag on the ship and therefore we could not identify the ship as ours! James Busby took up the challenge of creating a flag for NZ. He thought creating a united flag would make the Far North Maori chiefs work together. It worked and in 1834 the United Tribes flag was chosen. It consisted of four white stars on a blue background with the St George’s cross.
6 even years later in 1840 will hobson introduced a flag called the union jack to represent the signing of the treaty of waitangi .this flag showed the cross of saint patrick as well as the cross of saint andrew. To the maori it was a symbol of british power over maori. see the problem already. just like when my sister and i disagree . but wait theres more, it gets better and more expensive this is not the time that we had two flags at once that is still coming.
The signaling flag showed red stars of the southern cross inclosed in a white disc. it was officially a flag only to use at sea but people began to use it in public buildings and advertising even though the union jack was still the legal flag for nz . the time is here the time that we had two flags at once.
the sir richard seddon proposed to change the flag to the one we are all familiar with but is the whole world?????
The answer is no! we identify more with the silver fern than our flag so changing the flag to a silver fern on a black background could be a bonus
people want to change the flag because they argue that too many people wonder if it is the australian flag
but the flag it is not broken there is nothing wrong with it all we are doing is wasting taxpayers money and wasting time.
in debates people have said that the flag we have now does not represent nz well enough so they want to change the flag
the union jack in our flag stands for our strong past and ties us to the united kingdom and residents do not want to change that
changing the flag will cost us $25.7 million dollars imagine all of that money going to the poor or education or roads or hospitals. Surely that is a more sensible and fair way to spend taxpayers hard earned money
so to answer our questions What did our first flag look like? It consisted of four white stars on a blue background with the St George’s cross. Why did we change our first flag? to represent the signing of the treaty of waitangi why doesn't the world know what our flag looks like? because we identify more with the silver fern than our flag. I leave you with one question do you still want to change the flag? thank you

Before
come to my forest you’ll love the peace and cool colours
boring right? now read after.
After
On a cool, misty winter's day would be a perfect time to visit my forest.
The mist will creep up on you and depression will fill your soul.
The trees are bare like a christmas with no presents.
The sun filters through the thick layers of dark clouds creating an eerie atmosphere
The cool wind brushes your face like a riot of spiders crawling up your neck
The air grows moist as a lite rain starts spitting
The tree stumps are mossy and have been hacked at like pointy rocks
The trees are witches staring down at you

Desert
FEEL
As I walked through the desert my feet sank into the boiling sand. My feet burn so i pull my feet out as fast as I can. I’m so hot that I feel I could pass out and I can feel the hot heat raze.My eyes burn from the sun and they are now red and sore.I keep trying to walk but my feet start to ache even more. I finally tried to walk and I burnt my feet so I was really relieved when I saw a camel passing by so I hopped onto it I was exhausted after all the walking. The suns rays are a heater on a way-too-high heat.
SEE
As I rode the humpy camel a wave of scenery rushed by. A cartwheeling , spider he cartwheeled down a hill. A rattle snake slithered along and the camel ran as fast as a cheetah to get away from it . The sand shone a golden brown colour the sand dunes looked 5000 meters high. I spotted a tumbling weed rolling by. my eyes started to play tricks on me and i thought i saw a cheetah
HEAR I could hear the soft whooshing wind ,it showed no mercy to annoy me. It was so quiet i was forced to listen to the faint sound of the camel
hooves on the sand .The wind started up not so strong
and I heard it whistle quietly in my ear.
TASTE
I found out what sand tastes like!it wasn't very nice it made my mouth all gritty
I do not like the desert at all! By Gizelle,Andrew, Amber and Catherine

wetlands
Standing by the swamp my eyes are drawn towards my reflection in the murky river. It ripples as the wind blows over it. The trees rustle over head. Leaves leap from the trees escaping the movement of the wind. The flow of water is a water fall crashing into my ears. Pukekos drink from the waters edge, a bittern rests in a tree and pecks at a leaf turning as brown as the mud around the water. The river coils around the rocks that break the waters surface. The mud worms its way into my mouth and the taste disgusts me. The mud and grass also somehow reaches my nose it reeks like the sewage! My hands run along the reeds and I pull my hand away ,the reeds are needles sticking into my hands. The grass tickles my feet. I take one last glance and walk away.
